Dermatology photodump 👀
Gah ok. So hi (again) everyone, I’m now in big big 5th year and I have to say oh my God when did that happen. We started on our surgery rotation (💘💘💘) it’s a 6 week cycle and our last day is tomorrow before our exam next week (🥲!!) This month has been a complete rollercoaster for me and so many others so here’s a photo dump of some of the happy mostly uni related things
I’ve had this post in my drafts since last Feb when I took it because old me just KNEW I would need to rant about pathology when I’m on my rotation now and. Oh God.
Reflecting back -
Our first day of fourth year
A little throwback to a year ago where I spent a week of my summer break shadowing ophthalmology fellows and consultants. I’ll (try) keep this short because I need to get back to studying for my internal med exam but. This was the week where things just clicked and made sense, I already knew I want to go into surgery someday but this week showed me the balance between medicine and surgery and just added to my list of reasons behind why I choose surgery. It was also the first week (of many) where I was on a constant high from spending my afternoons in the OR. Ophthalmology is amazing and ophthalmologists are even better, all the ones I’ve met so far are absolutely lovely and great at giving advice. but as much as I loved every second of it, I learnt it’s not for me. This might change once I start rotations later this year but the systems are very different in BG and England and I’m very set in my ways once I decide something so. We shall see where life takes me. For now I’m going back to focusing on my exams, I took a little break after my last one but I’m back to studying now. Just twelve more days to power through to the end of my semester 6 exam season 💪🏽✨
